Good stuff…

This is Kara Artman. She’s an artist, showing her work in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I met her by chance at the Chapman Cultural  Center, which is across the street from Ciclops Cyderi and Brewery. That’s a good combination, in my estimation.

The middle of December found me in Spartanburg. I’d gone to visit my daughter and her family there. As it happens, they are co-owners of the brewery, so I naturally had to go see the place. My son-in-law, Michael, suggested that I might enjoy the gallery, across the street. So, I crossed over and went inside. Turns out, they were in the midst of an exhibit change, so there wasnt much art available for viewing. I did see Kara and her SO, though, setting up her work. She agreed to let me do a few photos.

These exquisite pieces are fashioned from bottles that she collects. She then weaves reclaimed copper wire for a marvelous finished look.

A group of people approach the entrance to Hacienda Real.

Last week, I went back up to Frisco, just because. 😉 People who know me, also know that I’m a sucker for good Mexican food. This is Hacienda Real. I’ve driven past it dozens of times, but this time decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did.

The Tamal and Enchilada plate from Hacienda Real, in Frisco, Colorado. is delicious. It is accompanied by tortilla chips with house made salsa, refried beans, rice, and a typical shredded vegetable combination.

Since I was soltero, I sat in the bar, which was a good decision, as the Avs game was on. Apart from an overdone first cup of coffee, everything was very good. Service was excellent. Food was on fleek and hot. The atmosphere was what you would expect from an established Mexican restaurant. As you can see, the place was busy.
